Impact
Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana seeks a Program Coordinator who has a passion for making a difference within a local non-profit. As a vital member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth administrative functions, and contributing to our mission of serving those in need.
The Program Coordinator serves in a support role for the JA Education Team with administrative duties, classroom preparation, volunteer coordination, and event support.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Materials Preparation:
• Assist in preparing materials and resources for programs, workshops, and classes.
• Ensure that all teaching tools and equipment are ready before each session.
2. Data Entry and Management:
• Accurately input and maintain program data in databases and spreadsheets.
• Manage volunteer and participant information, attendance records, and feedback reports.
3. Volunteer Coordination:
• Screen volunteer requests and applications, ensuring applicants meet program requirements.
• Cold call businesses and organizations to recruit volunteers for various programs and events.
• Research local businesses and organizations for partnership opportunities.
4. Teaching and Program Support:
• Step in to teach or assist in delivering programs as needed, ensuring a smooth learning experience for participants.
• Provide program facilitators with necessary materials and logistical support during sessions.
5. Networking and Career Fairs:
• Represent the organization at networking events, career fairs, and other outreach initiatives to promote volunteerism.
• Engage with potential volunteers and partners, sharing information about our mission and programs.
6. Event Assistance:
• Support in event planning and logistics, including preparing materials, setting up venues, and ensuring smooth event execution.
• Attend events to assist with registration, attendee support, and general event management.
Qualifications (required)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other data management tools.
• Experience in volunteer coordination, community outreach, or event planning is a plus.
• Comfortable with public speaking and teaching small groups.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility in managing changing priorities and stepping in where needed.
