Raytheon and Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana joined forces once again for a day of inspiration, impact, and friendly competition during their annual Pop-A-Shot Tournament – and what a day it was! With a vibrant energy in the room and the sound of basketballs swishing through nets, this year marked another exciting chapter in a growing partnership focused on preparing the next generation for success.
The highlight? Run It Back! One of Raytheon’s teams clinched the Pop-A-Shot tournament title for the third year in a row, proving that consistency, teamwork, and maybe a little friendly rivalry go a long way. The win wasn’t just about bragging rights – it was a celebration of community spirit and collaboration between industry and education.
Jake Mitchell, Raytheon's Site Executive, was in full force, making sure their involvement in JA Inspire to Hire lived up to its name. From engineering to logistics, students got a hands-on look at what’s possible right here in their own backyard. Jake’s dedication to being in the classroom and bringing real-world opportunities to life helps students dream bigger and plan smarter for the future.
As one Raytheon team member put it: “Thank you to JA – they do such amazing things for the kids.”
At the heart of it all is a shared mission: showing students the possibilities ahead and giving them the tools, confidence, and role models to succeed. Whether it’s dominating the Pop-A-Short court or sparking a student’s interest in STEM, this partnership makes an impact where it counts.
