Gotta Go Waste and Recycling, a leading local waste management company, is partnering with Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana’s JA BizTown through a $5,000 sponsorship to introduce students to careers in essential public services through an engaging, hands-on learning experience.
Inside JA BizTown, students will assume a simulated Gotta Go Waste Executive role in City Hall, where they will learn firsthand about waste management operations, sustainability practices, and the vital role sanitation services play in maintaining clean and healthy communities.
“Partnerships like this bring learning to life in a way that truly resonates with students,” said Jennifer Helgeson, President of Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. “By connecting classroom concepts to real-world careers, Gotta Go Waste and Recycling is helping students see the impact they can have in their communities and inspiring them to think differently about essential industries.”
Students in the program gain practical experience in environmental responsibility, teamwork, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship—essential skills that prepare them for future career success.

The partnership aims to shine a light on the waste management industry—an essential yet often overlooked field—while encouraging environmental stewardship at a young age. By participating in the BizTown experience, students gain a deeper understanding of how sanitation services support public health, sustainability, and everyday life.
