Future Explorers: JA Summer Camps Inspire Career Curiosity

This summer, Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana proudly welcomed ninety third- through fifth-grade students for free JA Summer Camp experiences made possible through generous funding from C.E. and S. Foundation, Inc. Participants joined us from the Delta Foundation, Galilee Community Development Corporation, Neighborhood House, and New Albany Parks & Recreation.

Over the course of two engaging days, campers participated in 2.5-hour sessions where they took on the role of “Future Explorers.” They visited the interactive JA Finance Park, a dynamic learning environment designed to expose students to various career pathways. Throughout their time at the camp, students engaged in a variety of stimulating games and hands-on activities that made learning about financial literacy and career possibilities not just educational, but also enjoyable.

Each activity was meticulously crafted to ignite curiosity about different professions while empowering students to build their self-confidence and envision bright futures ahead. The camp aimed to foster an atmosphere of creativity and career exploration, encouraging young minds to think about their aspirations in a fun and supportive setting.

Twenty-four dedicated volunteers contributed their time and energy over the two-day event, leading activity stations, providing clear instructions, and offering encouragement to campers as they navigated their career exploration journeys. Their support was invaluable in enriching each child's experience, ensuring that everyone felt included and inspired.

Foundation, Inc. not only facilitated the success of the summer camp but also reinforced Junior Achievement's commitment to empowering young leaders and enhancing its out-of-school programming. Together, these efforts are making a meaningful impact, helping more young individuals become confident, capable, and connected as they prepare for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
